Biography
[Edit]A classically trained pianist who has been playing since her single digits, Oslo, Norway-based singer/songwriter Therese Aune skillfully weaves folk, classical, and indie rock textures into evocative and elegant chamber pop confections that bring to mind artists like Regina Spektor, Grizzly Bear, Agnes Obel, and Ólafur Arnalds. Primarily piano-led, and backed by a mini-orchestra consisting of drums (Hans Hulbækmo), accordion (Ida Løvli Hidle), tuba (Heida Karine Mobeck), violin (Hanna Furuseth), and cello (Katrine Schiøtt), her Riot Factory-issued debut album, Billowing Shadows, Flickering Light, was produced by Sturla Mio Þórisson (Owen Pallett, Bonnie "Prince" Billy) and released in 2012.
