Biography

[Edit]

The Beachers, who took their name as a combination of the Beatles and the Searchers, released an EP in Sweden in 1964 of four American R&B-rock covers. However, they changed their name to the Namelosers after being threatened with a lawsuit from another Swedish band named the Beachers. Under the Namelosers moniker, one of the songs from the EP, "New Orleans," reached number three on the Swedish charts. The Namelosers went on to make several other recordings heavily indebted to the R&B-mod wing of the British Invasion. The best and most mod-influenced of these, "Do-Ao" and "Land of a 1000 Dances," appeared in the mid-'80s on the compilation Searchin' for Shakes: Swedish Beat 1965-1968. All of the Namelosers recordings, including some unreleased tracks and everything from the Beachers EP, were compiled for the Fabulous Sounds From Southern Sweden album.
