Proclaimed "Ambassadors of Goodwill" in San Antonio, TX, Mariachi Los Caporales achieved the Group of the Year award by a national mariachi newsletter in 1996. That same year, the band, which was founded in 1993 by Roy Quintero, participated in Mazz's Mazz Mariachi y Tradición. The 12-piece ensemble debuted in December 2000 with the release of Jamas Jamas.
