Even considering that they utilize some of the advances in sound technology since the early '70s, Zion Train's Love Revolutionaries is surprisingly faithful to the classic dub records it's influenced by. Tracks like "Building Rome" and "One Inch Dub are lengthy, mid-tempo versions thick with dub trademarks: heavy reverb, thunder crashes, organ shards, and bruising basslines. True, Zion Train does mess with the formula occasionally; they approach house-anthem territory on "Fly" and work through hardcore techno and jungle for "War in Babylon." But most of the songs on Love Revolutionaries simply update dub tracks with cleaner rhythms and more skeletal beats.
