[Edit]Daz and WZ are both certified OGs: Daz is a prolific rapper/producer who debuted on The Chronic, while WC kicked off his career in the mid-'80s with DJ Aladdin in Low Profile. On the appropriately titled West Coast Gangsta Sh*t, they serve up 14 tracks all about living life as hardcore Cali bosses. Thoroughly banging, ride-ready production is provided by a crew of mostly unknown up-and-comers (DJ 2 High, Touch Tone, Trippy Keez, Beanz N Cornbread, etc.), while quality guest verses come courtesy of Snoop ("Stay Out the Way") and Butch Cassidy ("Moves I Make"). Though both WC and Daz have been making music for 20+ years and could probably put an album like this together in their sleep, they still deliver an energy and authenticity that lesser cats would be hard-pressed to match. Check out "Dubs in the Air," "When the Sh*t Goes Down," and the "I Got 5 on It"–sampling single "What Cha Gone Do."
