The primitive pop-punk of Wax is presented in perhaps its best form on What Else Can We Do, the band's 1992 Caroline Records debut. Vocalist Joe Sib, guitarist Tom Gardocki, bassist Dave Georgeff, and one-named drummer Loomis lay down 11 tracks of rock & roll-influenced upbeat punk rock that approximates the Ramones. Highlights include the raucous but catchy "All Over Again" and the CD's best song by far, "So I Said." Wax couldn't ever recapture the spirit of What Else Can We Do after landing a major label record deal with Interscope. Although their later efforts were respectable, nothing the group produced could match this offering. Fans of Wax who haven't yet acquired this disc are definitely encouraged to snatch a copy up at the first opportunity.
