Wanda Sá, a bossa nova singer, and Célia Vaz, a female conductor/ arranger/instrumentalist, brought to this album a broader version of Brazil than in the average releases which keep an eye in the American market. The repertory is based in the bossa style, but they avoided carefully the most famous, preferring some jewels like "Razão de viver" (Paulo Sérgio Valle/Eumir Deodato). Better yet, included sambas like "Molambo," in a calid rendition, and other excellent tunes foreign to the bossa idiom. With the help of Gal Costa, Joyce, Nana Caymmi and the Quarteto em Cy, the duo of extremely competent and expressive singers realize a pure Brazilian album in a peaceful and gentle ambiance with excellent, instigating vocal arrangements.
