Twin Sister's first EP, a four-song collection from 2008, found the band's engaging mishmash of ideas coming together to create enjoyable if not quite yet distinct results, a post-everything indie rock that happily skips from one approach to the next. "Dry Hump," with its minimal start, slow grind toward the end, and feeling of disconnected desire, lives up to the name well, Andrea Estella's refrain of "Any way you want to" disappearing into a conclusion of soft tones and slow grooves. In contrast, "Ginger" moves into a full-band arrangement from the start, keeping the sense of slightly mournful progression but just a touch more charged with energy, a stately, drum-heavy zone-out, vocals and low buzzing notes intertwined. The acoustic guitar of "Nectarine," matched with the initial male vocals of Eric Cardona, twists the feeling of the EP a bit more, a wistful sort of folk-rock that gets shot through with a summery pop shoegaze of sorts. "I Want a House" ends it on a slow groove, in a sort of gently tense hip-hop feeling translated to the band's rock approach, set against Estella's lovestruck sentiments.
