A minute or so into the slickly produced anthem "See the Light," and the listener's "boy band" meter will immediately go off. But that's no surprise. The quartet's Jonathan Lippmann founded 98ยบ and has found the joy of the Lord as appealing as singing about problems with girls. The fun with the Christian-themed boy bands is taking fun, fluffy music and putting deep, eternally themed lyrics to them, and the vibers succeed at this, with a few members even co-writing a handful of songs. The opening song talks about the responsibility of Christians to be a light in a dark world, while other songs are more simple and worshipful ("You Are Holy"). Other titles are about as deep as the songs, such as "More," "Pray," and "Forgiven." But simple is better because it's impossible not to tap the toes and sing along. The last tune, "Not What I Say (But What I Do)," is the best showcase for their incredible harmonies, a very Take 6-like tune done a cappella.
