Tito Rojas' first solo effort (after his Conjunto Borincuba days) is still pretty good, despite that fact that it is still light years away from his MP triumphs; with the help of some of Borincuba's sidemen (timbalero Willy Machado, conga player Edwin "Nene" Blasini, bass player Johnny Torres, and arranger Ernesto "Tito" Rivera), Tito scores with a few tunes with "El Vendedor Que No Fía" and "Con Velo y Corona." It received little attention in its day, but it is interesting to catch 25-year-old Tito Rojas in his early days as a solo vocalist. ~ José A. Estévez, Jr., Rovi
