The Reno Brothers are a modern bluegrass/acoustic country music group with emphasis on vocal harmonies. Their harmonization tends to be very close, providing a rich vocal texture as opposed to an intricate one. Such music often sets up a cozy world shining with love for a woman and a love for God. While both shades are present on Three Part Harmony, excellent variety also appears with the "swinggrass" "Movie Time Blues" and the three instrumental cuts spread out over the album. Even the songs provide stunning instrumental breaks largely due to Don Wayne and Dale Reno (banjo/lead guitar and mandolin, respectively). Third brother and son to bluegrass legend Don Reno, Ronnie mostly takes the lead vocal. He displays the same exquisite Americana/country expression that won him acclaim with his father, Red Smiley, the Osborne Brothers, and Merle Haggard. Don Wayne takes the lead on the one quartet arrangement and sole gospel piece, "Let in the Guiding Light."
