The Mamas & the Papas were an amazing vocal group in their prime, and songs like "Monday, Monday," the immortal "California Dreamin'," "I Saw Her Again," and the autobiographical "Creeque Alley" were simply great singles full of wonderful (and at times achingly spooky) vocals and harmonies and superb arrangements. The above key tracks are here but not much else, and since there is so much more to the story, this brief set (only seven short tracks) is just a tantalizing teaser, a truck-stop purchase if you will.
