The Lewis Family is definitely an institution in the bluegrass music biz, rotating out family members for new family members for over five decades now and keeping the spirit of bluegrass alive the entire time. This collection celebrates the family's 50th year of performing with a concert highlighting the favorites of their impressive catalog, and it should come as no surprise that the family is as tight and dynamic as bands come. Many generations appear here, from founder Roy "Pop" Lewis and the lightning theatrics of Little Roy Lewis to the trademark harmonies of Miggie, Polly, and Janis Lewis, even on down to some of the little tykes who'll no doubt hold more prominent roles in the group's future. 50th Anniversary Celebration is a fitting and happy tribute to one of the most interesting and talented groups in the history of bluegrass.
