Details

[Edit]

Like most Kinks albums from the mid-‘60s through the early ‘70s, 1971’s Muswell Hillbillies has a strong cult following that cherishes leader Ray Davies’ idiosyncratic instincts during an era when most veteran rockers were solely focused on keeping up with current trends. This legacy edition adds nine bonus tracks, seven not previously released in North America: alternate versions of “Have a Cuppa Tea,” “Uncle Son," and an instrumental take of “20th Century Man,” along with a demo of “Nobody’s Fool,” the backing track to “Queenie,” a radio spot for the album, the piano romp “Kentucky Moon,” “Lavender Lane” (which resembles “Waterloo Sunset”), and “Mountain Woman.”
