A lightning-quick rendition of Rossini's "The Barber of Seville" and guitarist/violinist the Great Kat is "High-Priestess of Guitar Shred" and "inventor of Cyberspeed Metal/Classical Music." The themes of the next two tracks ("Dominatrix" and "Feast of the Dead") from this four-cut EP come closer to the impetus for any adoration, to be sure. Kat has rifled the shelves of Frederick's of Hollywood and bondage-wear marts for a taffeta and leather look that is sure to intensify the wet dream of any teenage metalhead. Being that she is much more likely to capture the eyes of the next generation of arpeggio purveyors, she just may fulfill her dream of resurrecting classical and metal music, if only on a limited scale. With visual fare as strong a selling point as her aural treats, it is no wonder that there is a video for "Dominatrix." Kat batters her submissive ones and bats out the double-quick fretwork. Guitar Goddess features the lusty lady of the leapin' licks among big crosses, dungeon settings, whips and chains, and enough fake blood to see you through to the end of an H.G. Lewis flick.
