Terrific nasal vocal harmonies, their brisk, bubblin' tenor, and 6-string guitars and Wayne Raney's wailin' locomotive harmonica make The Delmores' late-'40s King label hits the most accessible of their early brother-duo material. Sounding a mite like the amiable smalltown uncles of Elvis and the Everly Brothers, the chooglin' "hillbilly boogie" of The Delmores was just a hairpin curve away from rockabilly. ~ Mark A.
