[Edit]This LP from the Swedish Tax label has a nice cross-section of Benny Carter's recordings of the 1930s. The versatile Carter (switching between alto and trumpet with a bit of clarinet) is featured on three titles with Mezz Mezzrow, heard backing the English cabaret singer Elisabeth Welch, and leads several different units including big bands in 1934 and 1939 and smaller groups recorded in Holland; Coleman Hawkins is on three of these titles. All of this material has since been reissued on CD.
