This budget-priced ($7) eight song CD isn't half bad, despite the fact that it contains Ritter's stereo re-recordings of his classics. Tex could still put "High Noon" over with a lot of forcefulness in the 1960s, albeit in a more show-y and elaborate arrangement. If anything, his voice had mellowed and improved with age, and he was able to convey emotion with even greater sincerity than on his old recordings, though the overall sound of these sides is more commercial. "Boll Weevil," "Green Grow The Lilacs," and even "Rye Whiskey" are also great fun here, and there are far worse ways to spend 22 minutes than listening to this material.
