Throughout its four decades of activity, the Dutch Swing College Band (a Dixieland sextet/septet) often featured guest soloists. On this Timeless album, the veteran swing pianist Teddy Wilson sits in on six selections from the 1972-73 period, including "Riverboat Shuffle," "Rhythm King" and "China Boy"; Wilson easily fits right in with the spirited group. The remaining five selections are from 1964-67 and are of the same high quality. In addition to the leader Peter Schilperoort (heard on baritone, tenor and clarinet), the album features Bert De Kort or Ray Kaart on trumpet, trombonist Dick Kaart and clarinetist Bob Kaper. This is enjoyable music that is recommended to pre-bop jazz collectors.
