[Edit]
In the ‘00s, prog-pop from the mid-‘70s was given a critical overhaul, with former prejudices dismissed and the music praised for its adventurous spirit. Supertramp eventually found mainstream pop acceptance by the end of the ‘70s, but it was 1974’s Crime of the Century that had brilliantly synthesized their classical backgrounds with undercurrents of heaviness (“School”) and pop (“Dreamer”). This 2014 deluxe edition adds 13 tracks from their March 9, 1975, concert at the Hammersmith Odeon. It includes every track from Crime and plenty of fan favorites while yielding a rawer look at a group known for their studio perfectionism.
