With his fourth EP, Skrillex wastes no time getting the party started. “Right In” drops the listener right in the middle of a jam in progress, where laser blasts battle stroboscopic beats and drums explode like military air mines. Hip-hop bad girl Sirah cameos on the title track, where she rhymes over Skrillex’s shift into progressive house wizardry—which there happens to be more of here than his trademark dubstep wobble. The late Jim Morrison makes an appearance on the psychedelia-influenced “Breakin’ a Sweat,” where grinding organ, electric sitar, and dubby bass accompany the Lizard King’s unmistakable “Alright!” and samples from “Light My Fire.” Classic rave flourishes are on the surface of “The Devil’s Den,” a collaboration with Wolfgang Gartner that recalls a time in the early '90s when banging abandoned-warehouse parties could only be perpetuated with a secret map point. Some of that hyper Chicago juke style spills from the racing “Right on Time” before Sirah returns to accompany Skrillex in “Kyoto,” a brilliant return to rap-metal.
