Hurensöhne, released in 1993, contained songs the band had accumulated in 1991-1992 when they weren't able to find a suitable record company. It is a strong effort with provocative songs, but sometimes quality drowns in quantity. Instead of releasing 18 songs on this album, the band should have sifted through the material a bit and could have done much better by cutting down by half a dozen songs. The most obvious issue is the difference in quality between Gerhard Gundermann and Tamara Danz' lyrics: Danz is a hell of a singer, but in her talents as a lyricist she is sometimes limited. Fortunately, "Halloween in Ostberlin," "Bye Bye," and "Traumpaar" are some notable exceptions. These songs, as well as Gundermann's contributions ("Fliegender Fisch" and "Loch Im Kopp"), are the best moments of Hurensöhne.
