Wakeman has done soundtrack work for movies (including The Burning and G'ole), television (his "Lytton's Diary" and "Database" themes were released as a non-LP single), and even a video game (Microcosm), and this album features a variety of pieces in that style — themes to nonexistent films. Wakeman has some pretty strong material here, including the opening "Fanfare," the characteristically fine piano piece "Nothing Left to Say," and the moody "Forever and Ever," which has an arrangement hearkening back to Wakeman's glory days. And he stretches himself a little bit stylistically on "Bassolla" and "Ambient Loop." On the other hand, the two songs sung by Chrissie Hammond sound like those incongruous songs played over the closing credits that signal people to leave the theatre.
