If the five year wait between Rehab’s first and second album made the southern rap/country music duo seem outdated, expectations were even lower after another five year wait. However, in 2010, Rehab sounds less like Kottonmouth Kings or Eminem followers, and more like Kid Rock did on Rock N Roll Jesus. Approximately 80% of Welcome Home is made up of acoustic, down-river rock constructed around drum loops and twangy vocal melodies. With the exception of the rap-based songs "#1" and "Rideout Chick," it's a full album of country-fried pop ballads in the style of their biggest single, “Sittin’ at a Bar.” And for a band that got their start their start emulating the Dirty South alongside Goodie Mob, it’s a strangely pleasant listen.
