It doesn't matter if you're from Long Beach or Brownsville or anywhere in between, or whether you went to OG block parties back in the day or were born with an iPod in hand and have never seen a real turntable. If you know hip-hop—real hip-hop—you know Primo. His resume is untouchable; his style instantly recognizable; his contributions to the culture innumerable. This compilation gathers 18 lesser-known selections from his hulking discography, featuring frequent collaborators like M.O.P., Group Home, Blaq Poet, and Big Shug, plus where-are-they-know cats like Sauce Money, Charlie Baltimore, All City, and The Ranjahz. Primarily recorded during the mid-'90s, this is a classic-style mixtape (actually mixed on wax, with live cuts by Preem himself) that further proves why Premier is the man. "Return of the Crooklyn Dodgers," "Up Against the Wall," "1, 2, Pass It (Remix)," and "Seen It All" are extra-dope.
