Attention rounds out what emo-rockers Philmont first started in July 2008 with their digital EP Oh Snap, doubling the amount of material and filling in the gaps thematically. The band springs forth with modern rock energy and comes into its own as Christian listeners' answer to Boys Like Girls, Dashboard Confessional, and We the Kings. Seven new tracks complement the five retreads from Oh Snap, highlighted by the post-emo combustion of opener "Hello, Jack" and "To Say They Hit It Off Would Be an Understatement." With their wit and charm on full display, singer Scott Taube and guitarist Josiah Prince pack a mean punch, reminding listeners why "I Can't Stand to Fall" and "The Difference" both became Top Five radio rock singles the summer prior. With Philmont having proven themselves worthy to dip their toes in the water, their first full-length album shows why the world was ready for them to take the full dive.
