Let's Do It (Let's Fall in Love)

The live album Noël Coward at Las Vegas was recorded and released by Columbia Records in 1955, which means that as of 2006, it was in the public domain in Europe, allowing bottom-feeder British reissue label Forum (an imprint of Regis Records) to issue this, its own unlicensed version of the album. If any further argument were needed why Europe should come into line with the rest of the world with regard to copyright terms, this album could make it. The sound quality is noticeably inferior, the disc having been mastered from a scratchy LP that not only has pops and clicks, but even skips during "Matelot"; the annotations are full of factual errors and misspellings; and the label couldn't even decide exactly what the title is. (It's slightly different on the front cover, the back cover, the spine of the CD box, and the CD itself.) With a running time of over 76 minutes achieved by including 12 of Coward's studio recordings from the '20s to the '40s, however, the collection does feature versions of most of the singer/songwriter's best-known songs.
