[Edit]Nat Gonella records have always been a bit difficult to acquire in the U.S. The British trumpeter/vocalist had plenty of competition during the 1930s and '40s, and even in more recent years, his reissues have mostly been on English LPs such as this one. A fine sampling of numbers from 1935 and 1937, these 16 titles feature Gonella as the lead voice with his swinging 11-piece Georgians. Highlights include "Georgia Rockin' Chair," "St. Louis Blues," "Yeah Man," "Farewell Blues" and "Whatcha Gonna Do When There Ain't No Swing," but each selection has its enjoyable moments.
