Always extraordinarily talented, a band that launched its career as precocious children has grown into a group of phenomenally accomplished adults, and has now reached musical maturity. Having conquered the reggae massive, in 2003 Morgan Heritage began reaching out to the mainstream, performing at both Switzerland's Paleo and Holland's Parkpop festivals (among others), as well as storming through a sizzling show at Amsterdam's premier Paradiso club. It's the latter gig that's showcased here, as Heritage run through a tight, exhilarating set comprised of hits, crowd-pleasers, and songs off their new Three in One album. Live, the group unleashes a phenomenal roots rockers sound that enhances its heady mix of strong cultural songs and nice uptempo dance numbers, closing the set with a ska-fired skanker that brings down the Paradiso's rafters. But that's not all, for there's also a "Three in One Mix" that pulls together and intercuts another set's worth of performances from the Paradiso, Parkpop, and Paleo. Toss in their "Jump Around" video and interviews with the bandmembers, and this 190-minute power-packed two-disc DVD set is one that no reggae fan should be without.
