Back in the mid-'90s, Mobb Deep were running things. Undisputed masters of the New York thug-rap sound, they released back-to-back classics with The Infamous and Hell on Earth. They had multiple landmark street anthems, a truly distinct vibe, a strong crew, and respect for days. Unfortunately, the ensuing years took a toll on them. Now reunited and celebrating 20+ years in the game, Havoc and Prodigy triumphantly return with The Infamous Mobb Deep, unquestionably their best work since the '90s. An imposing double album, the first half is all-new joints (produced mostly by Hav, Alchemist, and Illmind, with features from Snoop, Bun B, Nas, Busta, and The Lox). The second half raids the vaults, unearthing rare and unreleased tracks from their storied heyday. It's a stellar collection highly recommended for fans both young and old. Don't miss "My Block," "Waterboarding," and the alternate mix of "Survival of the Fittest."
