The third album by these wandering canines again combines the talents of the four frontmen of arcane California rock bands Daniel Amos, 77's, Adam Again, and the Choir. Serving mainly as a diversion or creative release from their respective bands, the Lost Dogs mix it up with a veritable blend of country, folk, blues, rock, and pop with occasional bursts of tasty picking and harmonies. Not as rootsy as their inaugural Scenic Rotes, Green Room more closely resembles the slightly less rustic sophomore release Little Red Riding Hood. Terry Taylor (Daniel Amos and Swirling Eddies), who possesses one of rock music's more distinct voices, provides the melodic gems with the galloping "Prodigal Bride," the sanguine and harmonious "Reasonable Service," and the modern rocker "Sweet Work of Love" as well as with a revisit to 1992's appeal, "Breathe Deep." Although not a particularly strong selection, Leonard Cohen's "If it be Your Will" is contained herein.
