By 2009, Lita Ford was ready to return to the music world after years spent raising a family. The former Runaways guitarist found her greatest success in the '80s metal scene, eventually duetting with Ozzy Osbourne. Here she leads a solid band through a 12-track live album, recorded in early October 2012 at the Canyon Club in Agoura Hills, Calif. There are four songs apiece from her 1988 album Lita and 2012’s Living Like a Runaway (though the Elton John cover/title track appeared on as a bonus track on some versions, making it five). Just the title songs appear from 1983’s Out for Blood and 1984’s Dancin’ on the Edge, plus “Hungry” from 1990’s Stiletto. The Bitch Is Back…Live is smartly split between Ford's past and her future. While she's known for her shredding guitar solos, her songwriting is based on pop hooks and choruses that are meant to be sung by everyone in her audience. She succeeds throughout.
