Details
[Edit]The sonic architect of numerous huge hits, Lil Jon was at one time arguably the hottest producer in the game. Hailing from the crunk capitol of Atlanta, he had a knack for making addictively catchy club anthems, overflowing with freaky synth melodies, hyperactive high-hats, ample handclaps, trunk-rattling bass kicks, and sonar-style low-end thump. His sound was ubiquitous during the first half of the 2000s, and helped make what was initially a regional craze into an international, mainstream genre. His group Lil Jon & The Eastside Boyz scored a number of hits (most notably "Bia’ Bia’" and "I Like Dem Girlz"), though it was his work with other artists — Ludacris, Lil Scrappy, Usher, Project Pat, etc. — that really pushed him over the top. This collection showcases some of his biggest singles, with a laundry list of key Dirty South collaborators such as Ying Yang Twins ("Get Low"), Pastor Troy ("Throw It Up"), and Usher ("Yeah!").
