After years of paying dues on the standup circuit and taking small film roles (Scary Movie 3, The 40-Year-Old Virgin, Meet Dave, etc.), Kevin Hart is now one of the world's most popular and successful comedians, starring in his own TV show (the satirical Real Husbands of Hollywood) and the 2013 concert film Kevin Hart: Let Me Explain. Unlike most live comedy soundtracks that are essentially just bits and routines from a show, this is actually more like a mixtape, with 16 current rap joints handpicked by Hart. There are a few O.G.s here, notably Krayzie Bone on "I'm a Monster," plus Snoop, Method Man, and Erick Sermon on the title track. But for the most part it features new-school cats like Lou Armstrong ("Read Your Mind"), Rocko ("Nachos"), Nipsey Hussle ("Check Me Out"), and HoodRich Clikk ("Tell My Time"). Freaky synths, giant bass drops, skittering beats, and chant-raps dominate, ideal for a rowdy party, smoky car ride, or night out at the club.
