The Best of Ken Mellons

Country singer and songwriter Ken Mellons had only completed two full-length albums when he went to work on this best-of recording. Those first two albums were done under the Epic Records label, before he switched over to Curb. There are only ten tracks on Best of Ken Mellons, including "Farmer's Daughter," "Was It As Good for You," "Ladies Night," and a kind of dance mix of his popular "Jukebox Junkie" number from his debut album. Mellons co-wrote all of the songs on this album except the last track, "Cool As You." This album shouldn't really be titled as a best-of offering, since these are not hits from other recordings; they are actually all new numbers except the reworked "Jukebox Junkie," so don't pass this one up thinking you have these songs if you have his first two albums. If you are a Ken Mellons fan, you'll find this album sticks with his traditional and honky tonk country sound — a sound that many country artists are giving up to cross over that pop line.
