The title track is prime Judas Priest with a few extra electronics and synths added to their trademark sound. “Locked In” could comfortably sit on Defenders of the Faith. But with “Private Property”, things change. The back-up vocals take center stage; the guitars are given a Big-‘80s sound that is very unlike the dense clusters of chugging chords found elsewhere. It’s a clear signal to a pop direction that doesn’t exist in the rest of their catalog. That said, there are some enjoyable tunes here. The guitar work on “Parental Guidance” is sublime. “Rock You All Around the World” has a memorable chorus that should’ve been a huge stadium anthem. “Wild Nights, Hot & Crazy Days” and “Hot for Love” put JP in the pop-metal chain from Ratt to Poison. This 2002 edition of the album ends, however, with two performances that belong to the band’s heavy-metal tradition. “All Fired Up”, recorded during the Turbo sessions, and a live version of “Locked In” are classic moments meant to satisfy longtime fans.
