Jorge Mautner has been an underground artist for 30 years. It hadn't impeded him from being an expressive figure in the psychedelic movement of tropicália, and this release shows why. Joined by an impressive set of special guests (who partly divided with him the composition of the songs of the entire album) like Caetano Veloso, Gilberto Gil, Zé Ramalho, Amelinha, Robertinho Do Recife, Moraes Moreira, and Pepeu Gomes, Mautner exposes his musical thinking in an iconoclast recording. Mixing forró, pop ballad, funk, samba, rock, dance, marcha, and reggae in a both acoustic and electric setting, he expresses his desire of universality in a sincere release. Who cares if he doesn't sing or play violin that well?
