Spaniard Joan Manuel Serrat teamed up with arranger Ricard Miralles for the follow-up to his 2000 album, Cansiones. After recording sessions in Madrid and Barcelona, the Catalan-born singer/songwriter emerged with one of his most prolific and intimate works, speaking out with personal thoughts about human feelings in a passionate and sincere way. Versos en la Boca features "Señor de la Noche," based on a poem by Luis García Montero; "La Mala Racha," inspired by Uruguayan Eduardo Galeano's story; and "Es Caprichoso el Azar," performed with singer Noa. After four decades of singing and composing, Joan Manuel Serrat is at his highest level of creation.
