Led Zeppelin guitarist Jimmy Page and vocalist Robert Plant reunited in 1994, without bassist John Paul Jones, to perform on MTV’s Unplugged series. Their project, known as UnLedded, featured performances in Morocco, Wales, and London. Like other premier artists, the duo skirted the "unplugged" rules, with Page not entirely avoiding the electric guitar and inviting a full orchestra for a program where bands commonly strip down to the studs. Page and Plant did avoid the hard rockers in Led Zeppelin's catalog and focused on the acoustic nature of “Friends,” “That’s the Way,” “Gallows Pole,” and “The Battle of Evermore” to fill out the set, with “Kasmir” reaching its full potential. The new material—“City Don’t Cry,” “Wonderful One,” “Wah Wah,” and “Yallah/The Truth Never Explodes”—illustrates the Moroccan and Middle Eastern influences that have become prominent in their music. This 2004 reissue version features edited versions of “City Don’t Cry” and “Wonderful One”; renames “Yallah” as “The Truth Explodes”; adds “The Rain Song” and “Wah Wah”; and deletes “Thank You.” For years, this was the closest fans could get to a full-scale reunion.
