An ultra-hardcore supercrew closely affiliated with Jedi Mind Tricks, Army of the Pharaohs have been around since the late '90s, though their lineup has evolved over the years. On their third album, the roster includes Vinnie Paz, Jus Allah, Apathy, Celph Titled, Outerspace, Reef the Lost Cauze, Journalist, King Magnetic, Des Devious, Block McCloud, Doap Nixon, and Demoz. As on their previous efforts Ritual of Battle and The Torture Papers, AOTP are all about chaos, destruction, and total domination, whether on the streets or in the studio. Supported by beats that are appropriately devastating and relentlessly rugged, AOTP basically wage war against lame rappers on every single track, mixing ferocious threats with deeply layered punchlines. If you're in the mood for sensitive emo-rap with shoutouts to tight pants and relationship issues, you've definitely come to the wrong place. Check out "Drenched in Blood," "Burn You Alive," "44 Magnum," and "Godzilla."
