[Edit]The house/R&B crossover that never happened, Midnite Hour features several sexy funk tracks that put the Prince back into Principle — "You're All I've Waited 4," "Hot Body" and the title track — but instead of hitting the dancefloors, Smash pointed the album straight at the radio stations and failed miserably. It's obviously still worth hearing, since Principle was one of house music's best songwriters, but the non-house efforts sound dated and somewhat embarassing.
