[Edit]Best known as a moody singer/songwriter with a penchant for inventive electronica, James Blake got his start as a mysterious producer of intricate and abstract dubstep tracks. It’s a sound he returns to on the psychedelically detailed 200 Press EP. Built around a disorienting swirl of hip-hop chants, the jagged rhythms of the title track will thrill listeners who grooved to Blake’s early experimental releases. The other three tracks journey even further into the dark and delirious side of not-quite-dance music, especially “Building It Still,” which plays like an eerie remix of one of Blake’s own stark piano ballads.
