[Edit]This album was recorded live in February, 1996, at La Casa de la Música in Havana, Cuba, for an audience entirely composed of Cuban artists and musicians. For those who don't yet know the Brazilian composer and instrumentalist Ivan Lins, this is the way to begin. For those who already know him, this album contains exceptional renditions of his hits. Joined by the exceptional Afro-Cuban group Irakere and their leader Chucho Valdés, Lins revisits his biggest successes, such as "Somos Todos Iguais Esta Noite," "Começar de Novo," "Dinorah," "Vitoriosa," "Lembra de Mim," and others. This way, one can get initiated in the works of a great composer with added interest, that is, the balanço (swing) of the best Afro-Cuban/jazz band in the world.
The album is suited for those who prefer vocal music. There are few solos, and only one instrumental track, without Lins.
