[Edit]Written by Ingrid Michaelson and A&R exec Marshall Altman, “Parachute” was a chart-topping hit for Cheryl Cole before Michaelson reclaimed the song and released her own version in late 2010. Far more pop-influenced than her earlier material, the song shows the full scope of Michaelson’s writing, while Dan Romer’s production proves he’s just as comfortable reshaping the rules of Top 40 radio as he is working with homespun folk-pop fare.
