Past the prime of the Command label's promotion of stereo, Time's "Series 2000" — with modern/abstract jacket art — did better with fresh content. While Montenegro created some very original music, this is like the non-exotic Les Baxter albums — essentially easy listening. And at just ten tunes, it also is unnecessarily short. "Sway" ("Quien Sera") and "Patricia" are redone in worthwhile new arrangements, however.
