Haddaway had his moment in the dancefloor lights with the 1993 Hi-NRG smash "What Is Love." Then he had his moment again when the song became the de facto anthem of Will Ferrell and Chris Kattan's smarmy club guy characters in Night at the Roxbury. Haddaway's worked steadily since then, but he also has at least three greatest-hits collections, all of which feature his hit single prominently. Greatest Hits first appeared in 2002, after All the Best: Greatest Hits but before the budget release Best of Haddaway: What Is Love. It begins with "What Is Love," but also includes the follow-up single, "Life," an update of Bob Marley's "Stir It Up" that sounds like UB40 covering Ace of Base, and an eight-minute mega-mix that blends Haddaway's best moments together. In between there are songs like "Rock My Heart," "Fly Away," and "Shout," all sticking to a pulsing Hi-NRG format. Greatest Hits is probably the most readily available Haddaway retrospective; it's certainly the most comprehensive, including as it does special remixes and radio edits.
