Perfectly fitting one of the most famous dance clubs in the world, a place where celebrities and club-mavens go to see and be seen and (occasionally) dance to music, Limelight resident Gonzo's 2001 mix is highly stylized and heavily clichéd. The 70-minute set includes a bare 13 tracks of sleek, driving trance music, each one including several percussion breakdowns plus the usual echoey, pinpoint-precise melody lines used in most progressive trance. Production highlights come from D.A.V.E. the Drummer ("Hydraulix"), Ralph Fridge ("Mystery"), and Warp Brothers ("We Will Survive"). A bonus second disc adds footage of the Limelight (including a self-congratulatory tour and live excerpt, plus interviews with DJs Gonzo and Corbett).
