This is the first official release of the Goblin soundtrack to Amernia Balducci's film Ano Non Amo. The film, staring Jaqueline Bisset and Terrence Stamp, was released in the U.S.A. under the title Together with a soundtrack by Burt Bacharach. For the Italian prog group Goblin, the commission to rescore the Italian version presented a challenge that would produce some of their most unusual work. There was no spine-chilling horror in this human love story, so Goblin penned the title track, a ballad inspired by the pop orchestrations of Bacharach. In a similar vein, the track "Both Two" is a delicate and subtle orchestration of classic pop sensibilities. "Maniera" gets closer to the familiar Goblin progressive sound, with soaring guitar crescendos and complex rhythmic interplay. "Funky Top" tips hats to the classic '60s beatsoundtracks of Ennio Morricone and Bruno Nocolia. The CD features six additional takes of the title track and incidental pieces from the Cinevox archives, all previously unreleased.
