[Edit]Pianist and composer Giovanni Allevi is both a regular presence and a bit of an anomaly on the Italian charts, not exactly hospitable fields for contemporary instrumental music. Recorded at Lugano's famous RSI Concert Hall, his sixth album, Alien, introduces 11 new compositions for solo piano, typically influenced by jazz, classical, and minimalist music, not unlike the work of peer Ludovico Einaudi. The deluxe edition adds Chopin's Nocturne Op. 27 No. 2 as a bonus track.
