[Edit]

As the title implies, this is every Elvis Presley album (nine of them!) issued by RCA Records in the '50s. A few are considered studio albums, some are movie soundtracks, others are called "greatest hits" sets, and several were issued to keep Elvis' career moving while he served in the U.S. Army. In this modern age, with immediate access to music, it's hard to imagine how difficult it was to collect all of a musician's records back in the '50s—even one as famous as Elvis Presley. Singles often weren't included on albums, and Elvis' legendary Sun Records singles were near impossible to find outside of Memphis. All that said, Presley's output in the '50s was nothing short of spectacular. His singles became international hits, album tracks showed similar potential, and RCA peppered a few albums with the Sun sessions, especially during the Army years. For LP Fans Only includes Presley's first recording for Sun—"That's All Right"—and essentials like "Mystery Train" and "You're a Heartbreaker." To help empty the vaults, A Date with Elvis threw in Elvis' first Sun b-side ("Blue Moon of Kentucky"), plus "Good Rockin' Tonight" and "Baby, Let's Play House," among many others.
